I came home from work Friday just before dark and this little kingfisher was sitting on my backyard fence. I took these pictures through the bedroom window.
Then it started to rain. He still sat there for a while. He left before dark.
Then Saturday morning I peeked out the bedroom window and this immature ibis was eating bugs in our backyard.
Wow. What a surprise it must have been to come home and see this on your fence. All of my birds are in my backyard when I take their picture and each day I look and hope to see something new. Since my backyard is tiny, I don't have to look much. I saw a Brown Creeper not that long ago. First I had ever seen anywhere. I keep telling my wife I expect to see a Golden Eagle before I die but so far none. It would be a real miracle too as they are not in this area where I live but maybe I could get a straggler.
